INDIAN DEFENCE ACQUISITIONS

           Since independence India was dependent for its Defence acquisitions on either Russia,Israel or USA.

      From 2004-2014 Indian Defence acquisitions were slowed down under defence ministry of AK Antony.The reason for it is hard to understand.Indian Airforce was telling then UPA Government about deepleting fleets of Indian airforce and fear of 2 front war but then government didn't act.

      Now Since Narendra Modi led Indian government took the charge it focussed on Defence acquisitions from USA, Russia, France, Israel,UK etc.

        We acquired following from USA

1.Appache Helicopter :

    Tried and tested in battlefield attack helicopter.

2.Chinook Helicopter:

      For lifting heavy artillery guns,tanks,transporting troops to high altitudes.

3.Romeo Helicopters:

      To hunt and destroy submarines and to provide security in Indian Ocean against Chinese submarines.

4.Predator Drones:

       Surveillance drones only 2 units on lease.

From France:

Rafale Fighter aircraft:

       36 Rafale jets from desault aviation on urgent basis.it is multirole medium weight aircraft ,battletested and with lot of firepower having 14 Hard points with Modern meteor missile and spectra system, AESA Radar,Great advantages.

From Russia:

S-400 Missile Defence system:

It can destroy any missile or aircraft within range of 400 km and it is the best in the industry currently.

From Israel-

Spice Bombs

     Spice bombs which were used in Balakot Strike and Haroon Drones for surveillance

Now India has plan to make it attack drones with the help of isrel.
